You and Your Canine Travelers
Canine travelers are welcomed at the Green Heron Inn. The Green Heron Inn is one of only a handful of inns in the Kennebunkport area that have designated pet-friendly rooms. As dog lovers ourselves, we enjoy welcoming and meeting the four-legged members of our guests' families.
Kennebunkport is a great place to take your furry friends with you. The Government Wharf Beach (right across the street from the Green Heron Inn) and the Colony Beach (about a block away from the inn) provide bags and trash cans to properly dispose of dogs' waste. In addition, the path along Ocean Avenue that follows the arch of Maine's southern coastline offers picturesque and scenic walks for you and your dogs to enjoy.
Please let us know in advance if you are going to bring your pets with you. To ensure the safety and comfort of all of our guests, we ask that our canine travelers be on leash at all times while on the inn's grounds. We also ask that the pets be not allowed in common areas of the property, such as the dining room and the living room. Please do not leave them in the room unattended. Traveling with beloved pets is a wonderful experience, but pets can become very scared and disoriented if left alone in an unfamiliar surrounding.
There is a $15 per day, per pet, fee to defray the additional housekeeping cost. Please limit the number of pets to a maximum of 2. There may also be a surcharge for any room or property damage and/or 'accident' caused by an unsupervised or untrained pet.
